Semester at SDSU Certificates are available for advanced English-speaking students who would like the opportunity to take classes with American students for one or two semesters. This program offers a way to experience an American university for one or two semesters without going through the regular SDSU admissions or exchange process. Students can choose from a variety of certificates and receive an official SDSU transcript with transferable credits.

  • Business Certificate - Students with an advanced level of English proficiency who are enrolled in the Semester at SDSU Business Courses program may expand their business knowledge by enrolling in SDSU College of Business courses.
  • Business Engineering Certificate - This certificate provides students who are studying engineering the opportunity to enhance their business knowledge while gaining an understanding of how business and engineering work together.
  • Entertainment Management Certificate - This certificate program focuses on backstage management of people and technology in the performing arts. The certificate is designed for students who desire careers as producers, managers, and entrepreneurs in the area of live performing arts.
  • Environmental Studies Certificate - This program is designed to provide diverse ways for students to develop knowledge of the causes and consequences of the human impact on the environment. This professional development program offers a multidisciplinary approach to environmental studies for teachers, natural resource managers, community activists, and others who are concerned about, and interested in the interaction of people and the environment.
  • Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Management Certificate (HTM) - The HTM certificate is designed for those planning a career in the hospitality and tourism industry. The program provides a strong business foundation and produces new hospitality and tourism leaders. The program includes courses in American business and hospitality practices; guest speakers and visits to local businesses; business meetings, conventions, and event planning; and customized certificates in areas of interest. Some students may have the opportunity to participate in an internship.
  • Sustainable Tourism Management Certificate - This program prepares you to succeed in one of the world's fastest growing industries. Students in this interdisciplinary program will learn the tools they need to plan and manage a sustainable tourism business.
